Standing bare against a vivid blue Australian sky with dense coastal foliage, King for a Day model Erik meets the viewer without performance, his posture asserting self-possession rather than spectacle. The work strips masculinity back to its essentials, challenging ideals of polish, heroism and control in favour of raw physical truth, asking whether true power lies not in dominance, but in the courage to be seen.
